Catch Matthew as Motel in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, now through April 14, 2024 at the Fireside Theatre in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Matthew (Matt) Fairlee is a New York City-based performer and proud member of Actors’ Equity.
Most recently, he played Jinx in FOREVER PLAID (directed by Stephanie Pope) at Theatre Raleigh and Franz in ROCK OF AGES (directed by Tiffany Engen) for NCL. He has appeared in professional theatrical productions around the world, including the Off-Broadway shows MEDICINE THE MUSICAL and THE BOYS FROM SYRACUSE (opposite his twin brother Ian.)
Previously, Matt was in the national tour of JUNIE B'S ESSENTIAL SURVIVAL GUIDE TO SCHOOL and starred in the regional premiere of MY VAUDEVILLE MAN at The Millbrook Playhouse. He has also appeared on TV (Cougartown and The Nanny) and in promotional spots (Unisom, Cinépolis USA, CHEST Hunter College). He is a proud graduate of the BFA Musical Theatre program at Rider University in New Jersey.
An accomplished pianist, Matt has worked as an assistant music director and pit musician for live theatrical productions, and as a strolling entertainer at the world-famous Universal Studios Hollywood theme park.
In addition to his BFA, Matt holds a BA in Arts Administration from Rider. He has interned at a major film studio and worked on the Times Square promotions team for the hit Off-Broadway play SHEAR MADNESS, as well as for audience services company TodayTix and for CollegeAuditionCoach.com.
